October results

I'm about to head out to a concert and then some house party with some friends, and I probably won't get much time to play before October ends so I'm going to call the month right now.

Games: 650
Winnings: $5,642
Rakeback: $1,544
Bonuses: $189
---
Monthly Total: $7,375

My volume is laughable but I did spend the entire month playing 6 or less tables, and often playing sets instead of continuous sessions while working heavily on my game. I spent hours and hours reviewing and studying again this month and I feel like I am getting better and learning more every day.
I'm really looking forward to playing next month and hopefully setting and achieving some goals.

gahhhhh bleh

Since the last update I had another almost $1k day, then I took another shot at the $119s and of course when I get 6 of them loaded up the internet stops working and my backup connection wouldn't work, I didn't figure out why until after I had already busted all of the tables.

I emailed FTP support about it because some player friends told me that FTP had refunded them for sessions that were disconnected on their own end (the players).
3 days later I get a reply, they said they reviewed a tournament and concluded that I had been disconnected, and refunded me. I wondered why they said they only reviewed the one, and only sent a refund for that game -- then I noticed the tournament number they gave me wasn't a tournament number I sent. After a quick search I found out the tournament number actually belonged to a HU sng game that I didn't even play in. And the tournament number wasn't even close to any tournament numbers I had sent in. Pretty funny.
I emailed back letting them know there was a mix-up, and that I had sent in 6 tournaments, not one. I got a reply back basically saying "sorry for the error, in fact it was [one of the tournaments i had sent]", still no mention of the other 5 so I'm waiting for another reply now. I know they don't really have to refund me so I don't want to complain about it but that's pretty funny.

I've been running pretty bad again, but for some reason my desire to play/improve has never been greater. The only things stopping me from putting in a ton more volume is having to kill sessions from tilting because of running bad and the fact that I'm only 6 tabling this month while working on my game.

Today was very stressful :p

It's 8am. I can't believe I'm back on this schedule but w/e. I'm going to sleep.

good day, bad regs

The amount of regs (regular grinders, generally players who are break-even or better and play a lot of games) registering into games ontop of each other today was really frustrating.
I have a coding system for regs... 1, 2, 3, and 4.
1 = top player
2 = solid player, but has some leaks / possibly top player but not established yet.
3 = breakeven player. this player ranges from very slight winner to very slight loser, basically a break-even player, they aren't good players but they aren't good for the games either.
4 = possibly a good player but no sample size / reads to prove it yet.

When I opened the first lobby I see a 1, 2, and 3 registered, the only 3 players in the lobby. As I'm laughing at this a 4 registers behind. I don't care how good at poker you are this game is not worth playing, you'd just be burning your money.
These people really piss me off. They ruin the games for everyone, including themselves.
To the 1's credit he unregged after the 4th player (it's no wonder he makes more money than the other 3).

Any way it was like this for pretty much 2hrs straight (I'd check every 15 mins or so). I decided to give up, and went and got a haircut instead of playing.

A few hours later I took a look and no regs loading so decided it was time to go. I took a shot of 5hr Energy and took off.
I got to play for 2.5hrs before the reg-on-reg action started again at which point I decided it was better to just call it a night.
I played really solid and ran really good over the 21 games I got in.

Haven't had one of these days in a while.

Was soooo close to being a $1k+ day but on my last table I end up bubbling against two really bad passive players (A9 < QK, A9 < A5, QQ < A6).
Oh well, can't complain.

oh no

The day before yesterday I played 0 games. It was my niece's 3rd birthday but I still had 2hrs of free-time from when I woke up to when I left my house so I could've played a few games at least which is disappointing. By the time I got home I just passed out.

Yesterday I played about 45 games before I had to head out for a pool tournament / meet up with some old friends.

Just woke up, did some facebooking. About to eat something and then get to playing - going to try to make up for the last two lazy days.
I'll update at the end of the day.

Edit: very frustrating day for poker.
Power went out mid-sesh on a few bubbles which really tilted me. My Backup connection (iphone) wouldn't connect, and I ended up losing a ton of equity.
I then found out how to tether (usb) my iphone to my laptop so now if the internet/power goes down here it's just a one-click process to have my phone as my modem. That's really reassuring.
I'm going to be buying a UPS (uninterrupted power supply) soon as well.

Ended up only playing 41 games and making a few hundred.

oktobah

for the past few days i've been only 6-tabling trying some new things in my game. I feel like I'm playing really solid, especially over the last few days - however the results have yet to come with the good play feeling :(

played 48 games today and lost a few hundred, no biggie. just frustrating to see the worst regs running so hot while I continue my bad streak. Going to play a few more after this little entry I just needed to take a break. I'm going to be trying to play 60 games a day which feels like it's going to take forever 6tabling but I'll survive.

don't really have too many poker goals for this month. I just want to play >1,500 games and run >=normal.

Wish me luck

edit: played 62 games today. down $4.31 lol. reached my daily minimum goal :)

o hai dere

I set this blog up to kind of keep me on track or something. I've done a blog before and for some reason it made me feel more committed to my goals and more into my own progress.
I'll try to update as much as I can, but at least once a week.

been running like shit for a while. I know everyone thinks/says they run like shit but they don't and I have. hah.
I'm on like 3.5k-4k games of just insane death super hyper turbo ninja runbad.

working on my game a ton, reviewing with some of the best players, hopefully we can get the run good going one time.
